Custom Golf Apparel — Made for the UK Market
Post-Brexit Golf Apparel That Just Arrives — British Fit, DDP Delivered, No Customs Surprises
You design the range. We handle the rest: sampling in 7–15 days, UK sizing as standard, GBP pricing you can build a margin model around, customs clearance sorted before your stock reaches Felixstowe, and delivery to your door, your 3PL, or your golf apparel stockist network. 100 pieces to start, 50 on reorder.
For UK Buyers
When You Work With Us, Here Is What Happens
Most UK buyers researching overseas manufacturers have the same four questions. Here are the answers — no jargon, no sales pitch.
You Send Us a Design
Send your tech pack, a reference sample, or even just a sketch with notes. Our pattern team turns it into a production-ready spec — fabric weight, stitch type, trim selection, size grade. Within 24 hours you get a digital mockup showing exactly how your design will look on the garment. Within 7–15 days you receive a physical sample — cut to UK sizing, with your logo embroidered or printed, in your chosen fabric. You review, we adjust, you approve. Then production starts. Nothing moves forward without your sign-off.
Your Stock Clears Customs Without You
Before your container leaves China, our UK freight partner submits the CDS declaration with verified HS codes, country of origin certificates, and the commercial invoice. When the vessel docks at Felixstowe, Southampton, or London Gateway, customs clearance takes under 48 hours. No forms for you to fill in, no calls to HMRC, no demurrage charges. Your compliance pack — OEKO-TEX certificate, BSCI audit, test reports, VAT invoice — is ready when the goods arrive. If your buyer is a UK retailer like M&S or John Lewis, their specific supplier forms are pre-filled and included.
You Reorder and It Fits the Same
Once your size spec is locked, we keep it on file. Your reorder — whether it's 50 units or 500 — uses the same graded measurements as your first production run. Same fabric batch specifications, same thread colours, same trim suppliers. Over time we build a private digital library of your designs, fit blocks, and artwork — under NDA, never shared with other clients. For UK brands selling on Amazon, Shopify, and into pro shops, consistent sizing across reorders means consistent reviews and fewer returns.
The UK Golf Market in 2025/26
Britain Has 5.6 Million Golfers and Over 3,100 Courses — Here's Why That Matters for Your Brand
The UK golf market is at record participation levels. More people are playing, more rounds are being scored, and apparel demand has never been higher. If you sell golf clothing in Britain, you need a supply chain that understands this market.
£95M+
Annual UK golf apparel spend — and growing alongside record participation. Under Armour has led the men's category for 10 consecutive years; the opportunity for challenger brands at accessible price points is wide open.
5.6M
Adult golfers across GB & NI — the highest number ever recorded. 1.35 million are club members, and over 750,000 of those are in England alone.
3,101
Golf courses across the UK — more per person than almost any country. Each is a potential retail outlet, an event venue, a wholesale account.
130+
Rain days per golf season in the UK. This shapes everything about fabric choice: DWR finishes, mid-weight layering pieces, and wind-resistant mid-layers sell here.
Why This Matters for Your Supply Chain
A market this size with this many retail touchpoints demands a manufacturer that doesn't just sew fabric — it handles compliance paperwork for UK retail intake, ships DDP so your margin model is accurate to the penny, cuts to UK size charts so returns stay low, and understands the British golf calendar (spring/summer drops in March, autumn/winter in September, corporate events running May through September). That's the manufacturer we built.
Fabrics for British Conditions
UK Golf Fabrics — What to Specify and Why
British golf isn't about UV protection. It's about fabrics that work when the temperature shifts 12 degrees between the first tee and the clubhouse. Here's what we recommend to UK brands — and what each fabric weight is actually used for in the British market.
Performance Piqué — Your Everyday Polo
180–200 GSM · Mechanical Stretch · Wicking Finish
This is the foundation of most UK golf apparel ranges. Mid-weight piqué with built-in mechanical stretch — warm enough for a 10°C morning start, breathable enough for a 22°C afternoon. Moisture moves off the skin in under 3 seconds (AATCC 197 test). Air passes through at 180+ cm³/cm²/s. Your customers wear this from March through October — it's the polo they reach for most often. Available with or without DWR finish.
Micro-Piqué — for the Warm Days
140–160 GSM · Enhanced Wicking · Packs Light
Lightweight micro-piqué designed for British summer golf — the 8–12 weeks a year where temperatures push past 20°C. Same wicking performance as the mid-weight (under 3 seconds), same breathability, but noticeably lighter on the body. Popular with UK DTC brands as their summer-season hero product, often sold as a two-pack with the mid-weight polo for full-season coverage.
DWR Finish — Water Repellency That Survives the Wash
Available on All Fabrics · Tested After 20+ Washes · ISO 6330
The UK averages 130+ rain days per golf season. A water-repellent finish isn't optional — it's expected. Our DWR treatment beads water off the fabric surface while maintaining breathability. We test it after 20 wash cycles to ISO 6330 because a DWR that washes out after five rounds is worthless. Specify it on any fabric weight — most UK brands put it on everything.
Fleece-Lined Mid-Layer — Winter Golf Essential
260–300 GSM · Wind-Resistant · Fleece Lining
For British winter golf and links courses where the wind never stops. Worn as a standalone outer layer in autumn or layered under a waterproof in January. Wind-resistant outer with a brushed fleece inner face — warm without bulk, stretchy enough for a full swing. UK brands typically order this as part of a three-piece system: polo (base), mid-layer (insulation), waterproof (shell).
GB Sizing — Not a Conversion from US or Asian Charts
Before we cut fabric, you approve a graded size spec from XS to 5XL — chest, length, sleeve, shoulder. That spec gets locked and used for every order. Returns due to inconsistent sizing are one of the biggest hidden costs for UK apparel brands (£12–18 per return). We eliminate that variable by cutting to the same measurements every time.
Post-Brexit Imports
Importing Golf Apparel Into the UK — What Changed and What Didn't
When the UK left the EU, importing goods from outside Britain required new processes. But not everything you hear is accurate. Here is what UK golf apparel buyers actually need to know.
UKCA Marking
The truth: UKCA only applies to regulated product categories like children's sleepwear and PPE. Standard adult golf polos, mid-layers, and trousers are outside scope. But — UK retailers still ask for a Declaration of Conformity in supplier packs, so we provide one as standard. Not because the law requires it, but because retail intake does.
Customs Declaration (CDS)
Every shipment now needs a CDS entry. Wrong HS code = container held at port at £40–80/day. We submit yours before the vessel departs China, HS codes pre-verified for UK customs. You don't touch a single customs form.
UK REACH & Textile Labelling
UK REACH governs chemical substances in textiles — this applies whether or not UKCA is needed. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 covers it. Every garment also needs a permanent English-language fibre composition label (BS EN ISO 3758). We handle both — tested fabric, compliant labels, nothing to reprint at your warehouse.
Duty, VAT & Landed Cost
Chinese apparel attracts 12% MFN duty under the UK Global Tariff, then 20% import VAT on the duty-inclusive total. Our DDP price includes both — plus freight, clearance, and delivery. You know your exact landed cost before production starts. VAT-registered businesses reclaim the import VAT via their quarterly HMRC return using our invoice.
UK Retail Compliance
M&S, John Lewis, and Next each have their own supplier forms: Plan A, sustainability questionnaires, codes of conduct. Most overseas factories have never seen them. We pre-fill them using your brand details and our current certifications. Our compliance packs have passed intake at over 30 UK retail locations.
Modern Slavery Act
Section 54 requires organisations over £36M turnover to publish an annual slavery and human trafficking statement — and to demonstrate due diligence on their supply chain. Our compliance pack includes BSCI audit reports, worker interview summaries, and grievance mechanism documentation that directly supports your statement.

UK Brands, Retailers, and Event Organisers
Most of our UK clients fall into one of three groups. The manufacturing process is the same — what changes is the packaging, the paperwork, and the delivery logistics.
DTC Golf Brands
Selling on Shopify, Amazon UK, or both
You're building a direct-to-consumer golf brand and need a manufacturer that works the way you do: low minimums to test designs, GBP pricing so your unit economics are clear, DDP delivery into Amazon FC or your 3PL, and all the compliance paperwork ready for retail intake. You don't have a sourcing team — you need a partner, not a supplier.
Pro Shops & Buying Groups
Multi-location retail, private label runs
You supply multiple pro shop locations or consolidate orders for member clubs. You need locked sizing across reorders, retail-ready packaging that matches each location's intake format, seasonal deliveries aligned to March and September floor sets, and compliance documentation that passes every receiving inspection.
Corporate Golf & Events
Tournaments, hospitality, charity days
You organise golf events — boardroom days for 24 players, charity tournaments for 300. Each polo gets individually poly-bagged with the player's name. One PO covers your full season with staggered deliveries. We consolidate branded caps, towels, and umbrellas into the same shipment so everything arrives together.

"We launched our DTC golf brand on Shopify with zero inventory experience. LeelineWear handled everything — UK sizing, GBP pricing, customs clearance. Our first 200 polos sold out in six weeks. The reorder experience was seamless: same fit, same quality, delivered to our 3PL without a single customs delay."
Tom Harrington
Founder, UK DTC Golf Brand — London
"We supply six pro shops across the Home Counties with our private label polos and mid-layers. The compliance pack alone saves us hours — every shop's receiving inspection is a tick-box exercise now. What impressed us most was the sizing consistency across three years of reorders. Our return rate for fit issues is under 2%."
Rebecca Mills
Buyer, UK Pro Shop Chain — Home Counties
"We run an annual 144-player charity golf day in Scotland. Individual name embroidery on every polo, poly-bagged by player, delivered to the course two days before the event. LeelineWear consolidated our polo order with branded towels and caps into one shipment. The on-course team unboxed and handed out in 15 minutes. We've used them three years running."
